Category 1 is clean supply water. Category 2 is gray water from appliances or overflow. Category 3 is contaminated – sewage, ground water, or anything that has sat long enough to grow.
Category escalates with time. Clean water left more than about forty-eight hours becomes category 2. Category 3 requires protective equipment and disposal of porous materials rather than drying.
